Kono Diaspora Organizations & Brief Background
KONSALCAN INC. [K-PUSH]
Konsalcan Inc was formed by Mr. David ESK Gbongbor in 2013. David is a teacher in Canada, and primarily resides in New Brunswick. Before forming Konsalcan, David ran a scholarship program, named after him.
David Gbongbor scholarship program was supporting 40 students across Kono District, and schools around Sierra Leone where Kono students attended. The scholarship program was supervised by Bishop Tamba E. Charles, Archbishop of Freetown.
Mr. Gbongbor decided to expand his support for his homeland by registering a Charity In Canada. This move was to make sure that he and his group can further help provide educational and medical supplies to schools and hospitals in Kono District.

COVID-19 IN KONO Team
As we anxiously await detail information on the status of Covid-19 in Kono, I am pleased to Applaud the effort of two of our own, Dr. Dawonde and Mr. Solomon Bona for standing up a KONO COVID-19 forum.
A good number of us attended the first meeting, which was a stunning success. I encourage all of you to support this beautiful effort they have undertaken to help contain the spread of COVID19 in Kono.
I am hoping to see all of you contribute financially toward this Life Saving effort. This is exactly what KC was established. If you are not on that forum, please let us know to add you.
Thank you all more.

Diaspora Team!
I have engaged Rev. Moses Komba, current Chairman of Kono Conference on our transition. I am encouraged by the positive feedback from him. He assured me his full support to help facilitate a productive dialogue with home team so we can together move KC forward as we intended.
He encouraged me to work hard to bring everyone onboard so we can work to make a significant improvement in Kono. He is of the thought that we must try and institute permanent structures within KC as a whole, to serve as a roadmap for those who are interested in joining the conference and for doing things as one team from the same play book.
He noted that he will consult with the team in Kono for a KC meeting to jumpstart our march to a stronger KC.
When we get word of their availability to meet, we will call for a teleconference in that respect.
Therefore at this juncture and as we await on the home team, I encourage each of you to do your level best to avoid unnecessary and divisive exchange with your colleagues.
Let us remember that Kono Conference originated from us. We have awakened the consciousness of our people and wetting their appetite for development. We have the moral responsibility to deliver on our promises; and we must do just that by working together for our common good.

Message to the Africans. All Africans stranded in Africa from Europe or America are left to either suffer or die by the so-called Corona virus. Also, the west has made it clear to all Africans that we don't count weather you have passport or green card you are just an African. Point number one.
1. Africans are the last on the evacuation list from Africa.
2. The evacuation is coming late if they come at all.
3. The evacuation from Africa is more expensive than any other continent.
Although we in Africa we see flights coming into Africa every day because of our minerals They chatter flights to come and collect our minerals and they make the stranded Africans to pay their flight costs in the name of repatriating us. Diamonds, gold, silver and other minerals been flown out every day.
I am in Conakry even with the lock-down Air France is coming very day or other day. The ignorant Africans are locking them Selves out and they are letting in countries where Corona is rampant to fly in every day. What are they coming to do? Why should they not respect their lock-down? This Corona pandemic is meant to reduce Africans, but they are using the west as smokescreen to start. When they finish with the old and poor who are not generating income in the west, then they start with Africa. Listen to French president saying any African country that refuses the killer vaccine Will not get Visa to Europe.
Why impose vaccine on people who are not affected with your disease??? African presidents why do we need to stop our own people from moving around and allow the Wet to come not only to the airport but they travel to all their mine locations free, collect gold diamonds bring them to the airport and fly with them. The trains transporting aluminum and bauxite, iron ore and other mineral never stops running day and night. Are they above the law? yes!! Africa when are you going to know what is good for you and what's not? Why do you support everything that comes from the
West even if it is against your people? Zouk. I rest my case
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE FROM NEW CHAIRMAN AND SECRETARY GENERAL OF KONO CONFERENCE DIASPORA SECRETARIAT

May 23, 2020
In the hot July Summer of 2016, Patrons of our revered and blessed Kono District gathered in London at the SOAS London University (the School of Oriental and African Studies), to launch an Idea called Kono Conference (KC) for Paving the Way for Developing Kono.
An idea born out of the need to Move Kono Forward after disappointing dismal failures of successive national political leaders and yes our local elected Kono political leaders.
An Idea carefully crafted by Diaspora Konos and friends of Kono, under the supervision and guidance of Kono District Development Association United Kingdom (KDDA UK), with strong contribution from Kono Progressive Union Nederland (KPU Nederland), Kono Union USA Inc (KUUSA Inc), Kono District Global Organization (KDGO) and scores of patriotic Kono individuals and friends of Kono globally.
This idea was meant to motivate and uplift the spirit of all Konos and friends of Kono, that hope is not lost and that their children in the diaspora have developed a formula that will help rebuild Kono and restore her respectful image once again.
After a second successful discussion in Washington DC in August 2017, at the Elliot school of Foreign Studies at George Washington University, the KC Idea was taken to Kono in December 2018, where the district host team led by P. C Torche Foyoh and our Council of chiefs mounted a phenomenal conference that is still talk of the district.
Recognition for this unparalleled 2018 KC success in Kono goes to the following to name a few: First our honourable Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh who contributed immensely towards the successful hosting of the home conference in 2018. Besides his substantial financial contribution, he successfully intervened and break the impasse between the diaspora and the host teams and finally for demonstrating leadership by physically attending as the keynote speaker accompanied by a retinue of government ministers and the National Press; second, the support of government officials in Kono, appointed and elected, was enormous and coupled with the flavour of traditional and women's groups participation, the 2018 meeting was made lively; third, all our diaspora organizations and individuals irrespective of our differences, fully came together to make it happen; and finally, the sensational splash of the 2018 Kono Conference would not have been possible without the successful fundraising effort by PC Paul G. Saquee, the assiduous leadership of Reverend Moses Komba as Conference Chairman and Mr Aiah David Moripeh as Conference Secretary. We thank them and their team for a job well done.
We equally thank our Council of Chiefs and all their subjects who willingly accepted the challenge to host and to take custody of this noble idea called Kono Conference. We look forward to working with the KC home team and all other Kono organizations in Sierra Leone to Move Kono Forward.
Going forward we invoke the same spirit in all of us to come together and make Kono proud.
On Sunday May 17, Mr. Komba Kellie, the Vice President of Kono Progressive Union Nederland and I, Sahr Kolachi Pombor, President of the Kono Union USA Inc were unanimously elected as Secretary General and Chairman of the KC Diaspora Secretariat respectively to continue with the effort to institute KC so that we can realize its full potential and benefits for ourselves and our people and establish a strong legacy for our future generation to thrive on.
In the light of the above dispensation, our primary task at hand is to take the KC message of collective effort for Paving the way to Moving Kono Forward to every Kono citizen and friends of Kono in the diaspora and to foster a stronger relationship between the diaspora and home based stakeholders.
We will initiate and embark on community building ventures which will facilitate our successful achievements of our stated goals above. We acknowledge that there will be challenges thrown at us by enemies of progress but we are equally resolved to overcome these challenges and bring KC to a new level of hope and transformation that will benefit all people of Kono.
We will commence our administration with the continuation of the Gbense Market Toilet Project initiated by the former interim Chairman Mr Aiah Yornie Sodengbe by involving all KC stakeholders in the diaspora and in Kono District.
The development of Kono is our primary goal in spheres of health, education, agriculture, the environment, provision of public services, growth of our local network and safety and happiness of our people shall be our primary concern while interfacing with the National government in Moving Kono Forward shall be our mantra!
Our objective is clear: Paving the way to draw up a common Kono Development Agenda from which all stakeholders can work and contribute to the rebuilding and Moving Kono Forward.
Sincerely yours,
Sahr Kolachi Pombor
