General Information

The driving force of this organization was born out of sheer humanitarian feeling. As a survivor of civil war from Sierra Leone, I saw many women and children being killed or maimed. I realized that many of the surviving children lost either one or both parents in the Sierra Leone civil war. Every part of the country was either partially or completely destroyed. The areas that were badly affected were those with mineral resources like diamond and gold. Kono District in the eastern province of Sierra Leone provides more than ninety percent of gold and diamond mined in the country, which made the district vulnerable to both the government and the Revolutionary United Front (RUF) rebels.

Before the end of the decade long civil war the RUF armed rebels took over Kono district, and made Koidu town their Capital City. As a result of that they mined and sold most of the gold and diamonds to raise funds to buy more ammunition. The Sierra Leone government was therefore losing a huge part of its revenue, and made it difficult for the government to function effectively. Most salaries were held back over a long period of time, especially the most rural areas of the country.

When the government finally decided to recapture Kono district, it became very difficult for people to move in and out of the district. After several months of battle, the rebels were overpowered and fled. Before they fled away they set fire on every house in Koidu town, the Capital city and all headquarter towns. Schools and hospitals were burnt to ashes, and thousands of people were made homeless.

Today over ninety percent of the residents are living in make shift houses. School buildings are dilapidated and most trained and qualified teachers left to settle abroad and in other African countries. The few teachers that stayed are barely surviving and working with hardly any resources to salvage the eroding standard and quality of education.

The majority of the educators now survive on community support as they wait for long outstanding salaries. In spite of all the difficulties students are still required to pay school fees, and buy all their school supplies before they can attend school. As most of them are orphans while some are with single unemployed parents, they cannot afford to go to school. There is therefore a growing number of children roaming the streets as petty traders or engaged in mischievous acts. The only other alternative for these children is to become laborers in alluvial and illicit diamond mining. They are employed by foreign and local diamond miners to dig hard-rocky soil with shovels and pick axes to extract gravel. They are only promised stipends if and only if diamonds were found after washing the gravel. There are no stated amounts to be paid even if diamonds were to be found. So the children are barely surviving.

This organization is to aid the struggling children as well as ease the job of teachers of Sierra Leone and particularly those of Kono district where there is absolutely no government owned schools. The United Nation and other world Philanthropic Organizations donated money to the Sierra Leone government to rehabilitate schools and other public utilities across the country. Kono district is still yet to get its own fair share of the donations while children are dropping out of school, languishing and dying of hunger, malnutrition and disease on the street. We have come together to create more awareness all over the world to raise funds to provide quality and meaningful education to these war affected and neglected children. Every positive effort can make a huge difference.

AT KONSALCAN, WE CARE ABOUT LIVES

The Sierra Leone government must make it a point of duty to investigate any loss of life. Whether it is due to police violence or within civilians, everyone must face justice.

If Sierra Leoneans must trust their judiciary system, they must see that justice prevails, especially when innocent lives are lost in cases where it could have been absolutely prevented. Peoples lives matter.

COVID-19: While we understand that microorganisms can cause devastating damages to humans, we also do want to understand why their actions are so lethal.

This particular pandemic does not seem to be natural. There is a lot that politicians and their hobbyist are not telling us. They have put the value of money over human life. CORONA VIRUS WAS DELIBERATELY CREATED. Simply for Vaccines to enrich themselves and depopulate the world.
